Azure AD – how to add a local administrator to a computer

When using Microsoft Azure AD you can add local administrators to a computer as follows:

  1. Logon to the PC as the Azure AD user you want to make a local admin. This creates the GUID onto the PC.
  2. Log off the user and logon as a local administrator.
  3. Open a command prompt as Administrator, and using the command line add the user to the administrators group.

As an example, if I had a user called Doutzen, the command would be:

Net localgroup administrators AzureAD\Doutzen /add

Logon as the user who’ll have local admin rights now.
